"You know those ducks in that lagoon right near Central Park South? That little lake? By any chance, do you happen to know where they go, the ducks, when its gets all frozen over? Do you happen to know, by any chance?" -- The Catcher in the Rye
This charming view of ducks and the lagoon reminds me so much of that excerpt in the novel by JD Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye. The book's narrator and protagonist named Holden, interestingly, has been worried about the ducks at the Central Park throughout the story.
Only that we aren't at Central Park (will definitely make a trip with little Geb there!), but here in the beautiful city of Frederick, Maryland.
Nevertheless, this here is magnificent. Seriously gorgeous.
I was completely enthralled watching them in single row, getting ready to drift into the waters. Geb did a great job holding back his desire to chase them around. He attempts to. But also takes sudden halt, as if savoring the beauty of these carefree creatures.
