At Seventeen

Hey, little Geb.

Today is your 17th month.

How you've grown

You wave and say "hi" to everyone (or everything) you meet.  To people.  To dogs.  And cars.

At times, you get people intrigued that they would stop by to say "hi" back.  You are adorable, a boy made of sunshine, they say.

Your vocabulary has grown too, and contain more words.

Boh (ball), nana (banana), shoo (shoe/s)-- to name a few.

And not to forget-- diapowh (diaper).  Wow.  That's a big word!

Our favorite, of course, is how you lovingly call Tatay  each time.  We have yet to hear you call Nanay with letter "y", though

At this point, you thrive with routine.

You'd love us to read you a book before bed and read again first thing in the morning.

Books.  They're either hit or read.

You won't hesitate to bonk our heads with a book whenever we refuse to read.

 It's crazy.

Oh, you say bye-bye to anyone who puts on a jacket or shoes.

Likewise, you'll race to the closet to pick your jacket and shoes when it's time to head out the door

Funny how you know whenever it's time to go.  Like you had it all figured out.

And you know what's the most awesome thing?

We saw you drop your little spoon at the kitchen sink one time.  You tiptoed until you reached the top then dropped

I tell you, it was the cutest.  Ever.

Perhaps, make that a routine too!

By the way, do your gums or teeth still bother you?

Boy, you bite real hard.

I remember you started biting at nine months.  But, got over it after a while.

We're quite surprised you're at it again.

At seventeen.

Anyway, good or bad, we love you all the same dear little one.

Happy, happy 17th
