Geb's headway to five months is utterly eventful. It is the most bold and remarkable, so far. Truth be told, I am still very much tossed at the events so I kick around the thought of writing some of them here.
The past Wednesday was a long day. The thought of it terrifies me, no Mother would ever dream being in my shoe. My heart skipped some heartbeats. I was crying and shaking. I was petrified.
I came home with my boy glued in my arms, unconscious.
It appears to me he was unconscious for a minute or two. The Pedia later on concluded- Geb suffered heat exhaustion. He went through physical and health exam the next day, of which he aced thankfully, much to our relief.
Whenever time permits, I bring Geb to my babysitting job. I'd take him in a stroller to a school nearby to pick-up a child I babysit for over two years now. It's a good twenty-minute walk, no biggie. But ain't easy on rainy days (rained five-straight-days last week!) or when too sunny plus an insane level of humidity, such as last Wednesday the 14th. Geb battled to stay in the stroller. I was darn uneasy myself from the heat, icky-sticky-feel with sweat, what more a small baby. After an awful lot of soothing strategies, we end up leaving the stroller behind; hurried home with a six-year old girl in tow. At this point, I reckon, I could have done better. I could have ditched such risky feat, and avoided harm. But my goal, then, was to brave a quick walk home as we would've been wretched the same, out in the streets.
We were a few steps to the house' front door when Geb passed out. Although the pedia contend, he could've just fallen asleep or was plain tired to make any movement. But it was strange to me he clung into my arms stiff-still for about eight minutes. His eyes were half-open, but I couldn't seem to feel and hear him breathe. Or perhaps I panic too much, too quickly, hence my perplexed judgment. I was a Mama in distress. At the front door, I was already wailing, praying aloud 'God please save my son'. That little girl I was with, snatched my keys and managed to open the door in seconds! I heard Geb's precious cry the minute we stepped inside the house. He got back to his senses before I called up 911.
In my head, there was no way the little girl can open that door at once. She's just six. Never keyed a double-locked door ever before.
See what my little-big-girl can do?
She saved lives~
.. mine and Geb.

December 2010. Prego, at 5 months.
2011. Big sister love :) My bump at 36 weeks.
June 2011. When they met the first time.
If it were to happen again (I pray never again), I'd exhaust all the means and energy to get all three of us home, safe and sound.
Little Geb, you had Nanay so scared-to-death. I'd be a total basket-case, pinned to sorrow if I indeed harmed you in any way.
You are one tough little guy, praise God.
So we've moved on. My little family just had an awesome Sunday. What with a great weather, and some baby outfits spree.
And we will be celebrating Geb's five months of life after one more sleep.
In the meantime, here's a GUMMY SMILE before we say nighty-night.
Could that get any GUMmier?

This blog is finally a dot com (.com). I wish I can wait for a more upbeat, happy blogpost and announce that with a bang! But I'm too giddy, I can't wait. The imasuper series will sorely be missed. I started this online space in 2010 as a personal/food blog, exactly a year before Geb was born. My first evah blog post HERE. Yes, same birth date! Talk about oh-so-terrific :)
