Six Flags America

Ain't summer yet but we sure are rocking the heat in this side of Maryland!  The days are longer.  The nights, warmer.  The flowers bloom and fade.  The garden bare toasted greens, telling me I'll be doing a lot of watering soon. Ugh.  The best thing?  Little Geb's been a constant fixture outdoor!  Parks.  Flip-flops.  Cotton shirts.  Spring is my greatest love.  But, it looks like summer's gonna be gorgeous too, so I really don't mind tucking the sweaters aside.

Our friends, Iya and Adonis, the same fun-loving people who dragged brought us to Virginia last Memorial Day weekend, suggested another summer kickoff at Six Flags.  The place turned out to be the largest themed park I've ever been in to.  Over 500 acres in size.  It boasts fun thrills, plenty of rides for children, grown-ups too.  I tried four rides, and I'm yearning for more!  The waterpark is Geb and Khaile's haven.  We hadn't moved anywhere else from the time we dipped our toes in the water.

Learn about Six Flags here and here.  Ticket is quite pricey, but it already covers ride-and-swim-all-you-can adventure.  You can't bring food inside the park-- bummer.  Buy them instead at the lowest quality and hefty price.  Another bummer.  Our friends brought picnic, anyway.  But, we had to go hang out at the parking area for lunch.  Totally inconvenient, but we enjoyed the experience, nonetheless.  A season pass is up for grabs-- one fee for unlimited park visits until October.  Great deal, ei?

Happy Birthday, Brother!

I'm a step-mama to an awesome guy who's celebrating his 12th year today.  He's at Arizona with his family, so we thought of sending our love through photos and a fun video we had a blast shooting.  Geb has been eyeing the choco cake all throughout.  We had to keep it away the whole time. Haha.  He blew the candles himself-- of course, he can!  He adores his siblings (hello Ate Chelsea) so we printed out this hearty message on his behalf.

Happy, happy birthday big brother.  You are special.  We love you-- more than you'll ever know!

Winter Picnic, Anyone?

Whatever made us sew up a plan to go picnic on a piercing cold weather--

Dude, we seriously can't wait to enjoy our meals out-of-doors!

Our awesome friends pitched to meet on Sunday.  They offered to bring food so we can hang out after the church service.  Apparently, they tagged Brian and little Geb for a road trip to New Jersey the day before, just so they can dine in at Max's.  We have some of the coolest friends, I tell you.  The kind that travels 201.7 miles for a fried chicken! Haha.

So, there we were all bundled up for an 'off-season' picnic.  Boy, was it insanely freezing!  It wasn't even the typical winter cold.  We obviously underestimated how crazy the weather can get.  The howling winds whipped us to shivers.   The food?  Totally delightful.  And chilled to perfection, courtesy of the blasting bleak.

But behold the beautiful, epical landscape of naked trees.  Bright.  Quiet.  Crisp and still.

Fried rice, nangka and pancit were utterly divine.  Yum.  Ninong Adz, Ninang Iya, Ate Evelyn and Jen, you guys rock!

Our Sunday was the most out-of-the-ordinary, by far.  And absolutely fun!

We Love DC

We had the opportunity to marvel at Washington DC's finest, all over again, courtesy of a friend's visit this week.  Grace is a friend from college.  We've known each other since day one in the university where we both took the same course of study and belonged to the same block during our first year.  We both were working scholars too.  She was assigned at a library where I spent studying chatting or napping in between classes.  And who would've thought we'd end up working our a** off at the same turf eleven years later, post-college!  She is now married, with a gorgeous nine-month old boy who happens to got his name from his father.  A junior.  Little Geb's also a junior, remember?

Drewy, you're uber cute.  Those long, naturally curled lashes are killing me!

Grace's a sweet girl.  Her personality's a charm.  She got this real nice, velvety singing voice and a pretty face to match!  I'm sorry if I sound like I'm trying too hard to make her appear perfect.  She is, to me.  I do love her dearly and I'm truly grateful to have come to know her all these years.

I gained another friend during her visit.  Rachael, her name.  She came here in time for her birthday.  Sweet.

It was wonderful meeting you, Rachael. Hope you had great fun celebrating your birthday at the district.

Our awesome day jampacked in this little video.

We capped off the night dining in a Mexican restaurant with Brian, Fritzie and Michael joining us.

A stroll or say, a coffee at Starbucks would've been appropriate after a hefty meal, but you wouldn't have guessed where and how we spent the rest of our evening.  Haha.

We came home intrigued at what the future holds.

Did I just said we had ourselves some Psychic reading? Oh, man!

Sunday Love

How are you handling the cold weather so far?  It hasn't been much dreadful in Maryland.

Our Sunday morning spent at the church.  We call it the grotto.  Lovely place-- situated in the hilly part of Frederick.  Catholics from far cities would travel an hour or more to visit.

Geb's at a good age.  Funny.  Clever.  He knows his ABCs.  And numbers one to six.  Strange, ei?  Doesn't it come in fives?  He loves books!  Am so happy he does.  He tries the hardest to speak real words too.  Milk for now is kakkk.  Yes, three k's as he insinuates the "k" sound at the end.  I can't figure how on earth he decides kakkk for milk.  At least it won't be difficult to tell when he's thirsty for milk these days.
