Four

Four months.

Seriously?

So much has happened in so little time.  Visibly, little Geb is not-so-little anymore too.  He's becoming aware of his surroundings.  He gets excited when he's having fun and cries when left alone.

And read this:

He now sleeps through the night, folks!

Add to that,  our boy can easily turn giggles into laughing out loud.

Like most babies his age, Geb is extremely fascinated with his hands.  He probably think his fingers are the coolest!

Yummmeeeh!

He squeals, and babbles maamaaa, gagaa, neh and whatnot.  Let's not forget drool, and lots of it.  You can never have too many bib and burp cloth when your baby starts drooling, ei?

Yay, four months.

You think a four-month old can also blow candles?

It appears to me he did blew 'em. One-foot-up-on-the-table style.

Hey little man.  You rock!

To little Geb~

Happy, happy fourth my love.  Our lives have never been gratifying since you came.  You are truly beyond adorable.

And your presence, beyond wonderful.

We love you so much.

...more than words can ever say.

Baby Junior

I'll take you back when we rack one's brain to come up with a perfect name for our boy. If you are a parent, you know it's a big deal as it will stick with our child for years,  their whole lifetime.

Deciding for our baby's name was such a daunting task, we end up having a Junior.  Not that the husband's name is disagreeable.  Of course, no.  In fact, I wouldn't trade it for Tiburcio, given a choice.

**Please don't get offended if you happen to have a father/brother/boyfriend/pet named one. Worst, if you are named Tiburcio yourself. It's a matter of preference.  I named my son 'Maxx' before birth, remember?  (see HERE)

Last July 24th, we made Geb Brian R. Ramiso Jr. official.

Most importantly, we let Geb take the step of obedience in publicly proclaiming our faith in Christ.

Welcome to the Christian world, Geb Jr.

To the godparents, friends and those who weren't able to celebrate with us yet sent their presents, thoughts, and love ~

Thanks very much.

As to why he is crying wailing on top of his lungs~

Don't be fooled.  I assure you, he had a blast!

Ah-THREE

Ah-ONE.  Ah-TWO.

Ah-THREE.

Say hello to our little gorgeous!

just-woke-up look

Today is Geb's third month.

You see,  a three-month old can already hold his head and back steady.

Ooopsie!

Okay, the head still bobble side to side, front and back, but holds up when supported.  Or 2-3 seconds support-free during photoshoots, if I'm lucky.  I hope that photo doesn't make me such a bad mother. Hee.

One thing, Geb definitely makes us all chuckle with his budding personality.  He is a talker. We can tell. His infinite gurgles and coos are proof.

And his happy giggles are infectious!

Baby giggles tend to get frequent, louder and cuter as they age.  So cute I can't begin to tell you how delightful it is. Ah, you got to have one so it'll make more sense.

So, what's there for our monthly fete?

Bet, you guessed!

Our version of star-spangled cupcakes.

Red, white and blue-  no less.  Perfect for July 4th (America's Birthday), aren't they?

Oh, Geb is a 101% Filipino.  We'll raise him Pinoy, for sure.

Right Dodong?

To little Geb~

Happy, happy 3rd darling. You are the loveliest boy imaginable, no doubt.  We love you like crazy cupcakes!

Introducing..

Tikyo

..the black-eyed, black-masked birdie. Geb's first toy evaah!

He, too, is a 101% Filipino.  I swear.

A Father's Love

It's a running joke in my family back home that one, poor goat got slayed (caldereta, ei?) on my birth day all because dear father was immensely delighted "it's a girl!", finally (after two boys).

Naturally, I grew up a Papa's girl.

I am born to an utterly hilarious father.  He can get you laughing 'til your tummy aches and your eyes wilt.  Perhaps it's his frisky nature, among others, that drew both of us closer.

Papa is my first love.

                       September 2007

Twenty-nine years later, I married an equally hilarious man. And no, I didn't saw it coming.  It was strange to me then, that I don't have a criterion in the bag for a husband, like most girls do.  Brian walked into my life in the most fortuitous way.  A surprise.  But it was a happy surprise.

The husband is overtly full of character.  It astound me still that the person I end up with, is very much selfsame to the person I've loved forever.

March 2011.  Back when little Geb is still a bun in the oven.

As to how we end up each other, well, that astound me more.

For Brian~

Barely a year ago, on a Sunday drive with Job, I watched as you two snicker giggles at the front seat.  I was smitten by how compassionate you were as a father to your first born.  Little did I know, you'd be one day a father to my own child.

You are, indeed, a terrific Pop as I had imagined.

A hands-on, affectionate keeper to our little bundle.

Geb is nutty about you, no wonder.

   first week

   seventh week

In celebration of Father's love, I applaud you for being a wholehearted Tatay to our son.

Thank you for putting up with my inadequacies as a wife and a mother.  In every challenge, in every difficulty; you persevere.

You ain't perfect (hey, no one is!) but you are wonderful just being YOU.

For bringing so much life, and color, and energy to our little family with your funny antics-- thank you.

I can always make use of your witticism when I'm darn downbeat.

**What's up with my Father's Day blogpost in mid-July? Well, aside from I didn't make it on the day the whole world commended all fathers;  now that I have my own family, I'm convinced, a father's love is worthy of praise any day, any time of the year.
